November 2005

Can it be the Sidekick III? No one knows for sure . . . there are a lot of rumors about the upcoming Sidekick III. I have had my sidekick for almost 18 months, and there are a lot of things that I love about the Sidekick and there are somethings that I really hate. I have gone thru 3 Sidekicks, that is one ever 6 months. I’ve had things from flickering screens, to an OS update that completely wreaked havoc to my sidekick. But overall, it has been a good phone.

People are saying that the new sidekick may have Windows Mobile on it . . . not likely I think. Having windows mobile kind of defeats the purpose of getting a sidekick. The sidekick is suppose to be geared towards a younger demographic. Having something like Windows mobile with access to Outlook, an Exchange Server, Word, and things like that would definitely change who starts to use the future Sidekick III.

If you ask me, the future Sidekick III should have atleast a 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth, built-in mini SD slot for expandability, media player (for MP3’s mostly), a completely rebuilt web browser, and a slightly larger screen. Most things of which are rumored to be in the works already.

We will just have to wait and see, April 2006 is when the release date should be. But by then I would have moved over to Sprint, and got my future toy. But I am sure my little sister will get one next year if it does come out. And I will be sure to post about it.

People getting jacked, people in lines for hours, shortages . . . man this is crazy. The Xbox 360 came out today, and for the most part things were going well. But, there were a little snags here and there. Related MSNBC Article. Also check out this story from digg, Kid Gets Jacked for Xbox

I am usually pretty good about checking the traffic before I hop on any freeway here in Southern California. I have been doing that now . . . going on 2 years maybe. And in those two years, I have never come across the map completely free of incidents. There are always atleast 2-10, on a good day! Depending of the severity of the incident they’re represented by a yellow or red exclamation mark.

Glitch or no glitch, this is definitely a first. The freeways here are getting out of hand, every morning I travel east on the I-10, which just a couple of years ago would be completely empty (compared to going west towards the LA Area). Now, I have to leave about 30 minutes early to make a 11 mile trek from my house to work! It should only take me 9-12 minutes, going 65MPH, and god knows I dont travel that slow on the freeway!

Shoppers, On Your Mark, Get Set . . . GO! Though I am not going to buy an Xbox until sometime next year, I still thought this little tool is really cool. It will locate the inventory of the Xbox 360s in your area. I am going to make a note of the numbers on Thanksgiving, and a note of the numbers at the End of the day, after Thanksgiving. Should be a lot of fun. You’ll see a little familiar tool to the right of the page, google maps . . . represent!

Google is slowly but surely taking over the world. Some of the services that they are offering are just awesome . . . I have always told people to get on Gmail. There is no other web based e-mail service that can rival it. And the google messenger? Instant Messaging with VoIP?!? Check it out . . .
